Why risk saving taxpayers more than $266 million?Jacksonville City Council has the opportunity to save taxpayers more than $266 million. In fact, the City of Jacksonville and Waste Management have already agreed to a restated contract that offers citizens even more services and better savings than the current contract. But to save that $266 million, one thing has to happen. And that's for Jacksonville City Council to approve the restated contract with Waste Management.
But don't take our word for it, City Council's own auditor confirmed that restating the contract would save more than $266 million saying, "...the proposed contract could save the city an estimated $266,750,612..."

Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce also passed a resolution
urging City Council to, "approve the landfill management contract
between Waste Management and the City of Jacksonville."
